Masked Society

This piece was influenced by a fascination with the symbolism of masks in society especially now that the wearing of masks has become normalised. These pieces stem from the tradition of African masks and the connection between people’s personalities and nature. The works are interested in viewing oneself through a natural gaze as opposed to viewing oneself as separate from the natural world.
